Crazy Thanksgiving Offer: Let’s Make Your Work Great

Work shouldn’t suck. Whatever your position, you can do something to make your work better.

I’m so thankful for the work I get to do, I want to share the goodness. So here’s my crazy Thanksgiving offer: If you subscribe to this blog or follow me on Twitter and you don’t love your job, tell me about it, and I’ll help you find one thing you can do to make your work better. I can’t promise it’ll be easy or safe, but it will be worth doing. We spend most of our lives working—it should be great.

Email me: richard at humanizing work dot com.

Oh, and if your work doesn’t suck, share why you’re thankful for it in the comments here. If you need a head start, check out Bob Hartman’s list of things agile teams can be thankful for.

  1. My work doesn’t suck. And that’s a good thing. I’m thankful I’ve had the time and space to figure out what it is I want to do and also that I’ve found some ways to do it profitably. I’m excited for the year ahead and implementing new ideas.

Great offer. I’d love to hear the stories of those that take you up on it!

  2. Like – Laura my work doesn’t suck. I’m working as part of a small Agile Consulting company in Ottawa. My daily commute only involves getting my kids to school. My activities are a whole variety of fun – I’m always being asked to help solve basic problems with teams.

So fun, fun, fun. Seriously I’ve much to be thankful for.

  3. My work totally doesn’t suck and I’m so thankful for that. I’m thankful that it’s the kind of place where I’ve referred a bunch of people, 5 of whom now work here. We’re constantly inspecting and adapting how we do Agile and it’s totally supported by management (mostly they just stay out of the way).

We do lots and lots of pair programming, have a sustainable pace, our product managers (aka owners) are the best!

Our only big problem is finding really good test-infected developers to work here!

    Thanks for asking.
